A new attribute group can quickly be created by adding or removing an attribute from an existing attribute group and adding a new term(s) to an existing attribute group, without affecting the existing attribute group or any of its related templates.
Create a new attribute group when adding a new attribute
- Go to the Products menu in the Sales sidebar and click Attributes.
- Click the ATTRIBUTE GROUPS tab.
- Click the search icon and type the name of the existing attribute group.
- Click the existing attribute group's Bamboo ID in the Bamboo ID column.
- Click Edit Terms.
- Type the name of the attribute to add in the Search For Attributes field.
The attribute must be added to be available for selection. If the attribute has not been added you must first add the attribute then proceed with adding the attribute to the attribute group.
- Select the attribute(s) to add.
- Click Add.
- Click the drop-down of the added attribute and select the terms to add.
- Click Save.
- Type a name for the new attribute group in the Attribute Group Name field.
- Click Confirm to save the new attribute group.
- The new attribute group will appear on the ATTRIBUTE GROUPS page and will consist of all of the Attributes of the original attribute group plus the added attribute(s).
Create a new attribute group when removing an attribute
- Go to the Products menu in the Sales sidebar and click Attributes.
- Click the ATTRIBUTE GROUPS tab.
- Click the Search icon and type the name of the attribute group.
- Click the attribute group's Bamboo ID in the Bamboo ID column.
- Click Edit Terms.
- Deselect the attribute to remove from the attribute group.
- Click Save.
- Type a name for the new attribute group in the Attribute Group Name field.
- Click Confirm to save the new attribute group.
- The new attribute group will appear on the ATTRIBUTE GROUPS page and will exclude the attribute(s) that was removed from the original attribute group.
Create a new attribute group when adding new terms
- Go to the Products menu in the Sales sidebar and click Attributes.
- Click the ATTRIBUTE GROUPS tab.
- Click the Search icon and type the name of the attribute group.
- Click the attribute group's Bamboo ID in the Bamboo ID column.
- Click Edit Terms.
- The Edit Attribute Group pop-up window will open.
- The Edit Attribute Group pop-up window will open.
- Click the drop-down of the attribute to add the term(s).
- Select the terms to add to the attribute.
The term(s) must first only be added to the attribute before it will be available for selection to add to the attribute group. If the term was not added to the attribute or added to both the attribute and attribute group simultaneously, it will not be available for selection.
- Click Save.
- Select Save it as a new group.
- Type a name for the new attribute group in the New Attribute Group Name field.
- Click Confirm to save the new attribute group.
- The new attribute group will appear on the ATTRIBUTE GROUPS page and will contain all of the terms of the original attribute group plus the newly added terms. Please note that a new attribute group can be created when adding terms but not when removing terms.
