Map Sales Product Categories to State Categories

To ensure compliance when reporting to the different state systems, all end product categories in Sales must be mapped to the correct state regulator categories. 

 

Map sales categories to state categories

  1. Go to the Products menu in the Trace sidebar and click Taxonomy.
  2. Click the Sales tab.                           
    • All Sales categories appear in the Root Category column.  If a Sales category has been mapped to a state category, its corresponding state category will appear in the State Category column.  If a corresponding state category does not appear in the State Category column, the Sales category has not been mapped to a state category.

      The state categories that are shown depend on the state selected in the sidebar.  Each state may have different categories.

  3. If a Sales category does not have a corresponding state category displayed, click the Pencil icon in the category's corresponding State Category field.                                                                pencil.png
  4. Click in the blank State Category field. 
    • All existing state categories will appear and be available for selection.    blank_cat_field.pngsales_cat.png
  5. Select a state category for the Sales category, then click the Save icon.
    • The selected mapped state category will appear in the State Category column.  Selected state categories can be changed at any time by clicking the Pencil icon in the selected State Category field and selecting a different state category.                           save_cat.png
