There are two ways to package products: Off the Shelf and Made to Order. Off the Shelf products are packaged and ready to be sold. They are in inventory by individual units and can be added with or without a template. Adding an Off the Shelf product without using a template is best for products without a lot of variants. Adding an Off the Shelf product with a template is best for products with a lot of variants.
Before you begin
Before adding products, a Brand, Category, Attributes (Strain, Weight, or General), and Attribute Group must be added.
Off the Shelf products can be bulk-added or manually (individually) added from the products page without a template or by using a template.
Bulk add off the shelf products
- Go to the Products menu in the Sales sidebar, and click Attributes.
- Click the Attribute Groups tab.
- Click the search icon and type the name of the attribute group to use to create the template.
- Click the attribute group's Create Template button.
- The Add Product Template pop-up window will open.
- The Add Product Template pop-up window will open.
- Type a name for the template in the Name field.
- Click the Brand drop-down and select a brand for the template and all of its products.
- Click the Category drop-down and select a category for the template and all of its products.
- Type the price for the different product weights in the Price column.
- Type an optional product description and disclaimer in the Product Description and Product Disclaimer fields.
- To add a sample for each strain from the selected attribute group, click Add Sample, click the Sample Type drop-down and select the sample type, then type the sample Price.
The number of samples will depend on the number of strains in the selected attribute group.
- Click Add.
- Click Confirm.
- You will be taken to the Detail tab of the template page, click the Products tab to view the products that were added using the template. The product will also appear on the Products page.
Manually add an off the shelf product without a template
A product that is added without the use of a template is a Standalone (Non-Template) product, which means it does not belong to a template.
- Go to the Products menu in the Sales sidebar and click Products.
- Click Add.
- The Add Product pop-up window will open.
- Click Upload to select a product image, crop the image as needed, and click Save.
- In the Attributes section, click the Attribute Group drop-down and select the attribute group to use to add the product.
When an attribute group is selected, the attribute group terms will be available for selection in the Attribute Value section.
- In the Attribute Value section, click the drop-down of each attribute from the selected attribute group and select the terms to add to the product.
- Type the product's pieces and price in the Pieces and Price fields.
- In the Branding section, type the product name in the Name field.
- Click the Brand drop-down and select the product brand.
- Click the Category drop-down and select the product category.
- Type an optional product description and disclaimer in the Description and Disclaimer fields.
- Click Save to add the product.
- The product will appear on the Products page.
Manually add an off the shelf product using a template
- Go to the Products menu in the Sales sidebar and click Products.
- Click Add on the Products tab.
- The Add Product pop-up window will open.
- Click Upload to add an image, crop the image as needed, and click Save.
- In the General section, click the Product Template drop-down and select a template to use to add the product.
When a template is selected, the product will inherit the selected template's Attribute Group, Name, Brand, and Category,
- In the Attribute Value section, click the drop-down of each attribute and select the terms for the product.
- Type the product's pieces and price in the Pieces and Price fields.
- Click Save.
- The product will appear on the Products page.
